瓶子里的烟花

　　如果你家宝贝迷恋烟花和色彩，那么这个简单的实验就是为你和你的宝贝准备的。

　　实验材料

　　oil（油）, water（水）, and food coloring（食用色素）。

　　实验步骤

　　1. Fill your jar 3/4 full with warm water.

　　在罐子里倒3/4的温水。

　　2. In a separate bowl, mix 3-4 tablespoons of oil and several drops of different colors of food coloring.

　　在另一个碗里，混合倒入3-4勺油和几滴不同颜色的食用色素。

　　3. Use a fork to gently mix the oil and food coloring together.

　　用叉子轻轻将油和食用色素混合在一起。

　　4. Gently pour the oil mixture into the jar.

　　把混合好的油缓缓倒入罐子。

　　5. Watch what happens: the food coloring will slowly sink out of the oil and into the water. When this happens, it will expand and begin to mix with the other colors.

　　看看发生了什么：色素会渐渐从油中分离出去并溶入水中。这时候色素会扩散并和其他颜色融合。

　　食用色素溶于水而不溶于油，而油的密度比水小，因而会浮在表面。彩色食用色素水滴比油重，所以会下沉。当它们下沉时就会在水里溶解，看起来就像一个迷你型的爆炸一样啦~

The Bouncy Egg

蹦蹦跳跳的生鸡蛋

　　宝贝们见过蹦蹦跳跳的生鸡蛋吗？而且蛋壳外面就能看到蛋黄哦！这一切不需要X光或超能力就能做到！

　　友情提示：这个实验的另一个名字叫做“耐心”。宝贝至少要等三天才能和萌萌的鸡蛋玩耍。

　　实验材料

　　a glass jar（一个玻璃罐）, a raw egg（一个生鸡蛋）, and white vinegar（白醋）

　　实验步骤

　　1. Carefully place a raw egg in a glass jar. Pour enough vinegar in the jar to cover the egg. Let your child watch what happens as you add the vinegar. Tiny bubbles will cover the surface of the egg! Let the egg sit for 24 hours.

　　小心地把生鸡蛋放进罐子里。倒醋，并让醋淹没过鸡蛋。让宝贝观察在倒醋的过程中发生了什么——微小的气泡将密密麻麻的附着在鸡蛋表面（耐心往下看，小E会告诉宝贝原因的~）。把鸡蛋静置24小时。

　　2. After 24 hours, carefully dump the vinegar out. After the vinegar has been dumped, place the egg back in the jarand add some "fresh" vinegar. Let it sit for 2 more days.

　　24小时之后，小心地把醋倒出来，然后再把鸡蛋放回去，再添加进新鲜的醋。再静置2天。

　　3. The egg gets significantly larger sitting in all that vinegar, so it might be more difficult to get out of the jar!

　　泡在醋里的鸡蛋看起来变大了许多，所以把它从罐子里拿出来是件挺困难的事儿！

　　4. Let your child hold the egg and observe what they see. Since the vinegar has eroded the shell, the egg yolk can be seen from the outside! Gently bounce the egg on a table and let it roll.

　　现在宝贝们可以拿着鸡蛋好好观察了。因为醋腐蚀了鸡蛋外壳，所以可以从外面就看到内部的蛋黄。轻轻的在桌子上弹拨滚动鸡蛋。

　　一定要轻轻的哦，因为它还是会碎的！

　　鸡蛋的外壳由碳酸钙组成。当鸡蛋放入醋时，看到的泡沫是酸醋与碳酸钙产生二氧化碳的化学反应。而泡在醋里的鸡蛋变得更大，是因为鸡蛋透过蛋壳的半透膜在吸收醋。而泡在醋里的鸡蛋被软化，所以就可以弹跳啦！

手工气垫船

　　气垫船是不是很离大家很遥远哪，其实粑粑麻麻也可以用家里现有的东西带宝贝做一个，so cool！

　　实验材料

　　an old CD/DVD you are no longer using（旧的CD/DVD）, a balloon（气球）, the top of a sports bottle with a push/pull opening（运动水壶的瓶盖）, superglue（强力胶水）

　　实验步骤

　　1. Makesure the sports drink cap is in the closed position. Use a super glue to secure the sports drink cap onto the center of the CD/DVD. Make sure you create an airtight seal.

　　确保瓶盖处于关闭的状态，用强力胶把瓶盖固定在CD/DVD的中心。要确定牢固！

　　2. Blow up your balloon and twist the end of it so that no air escapes.

　　把气球吹鼓并扭紧气球底部（不要系死），以防空气泄露出来

　　3. With the balloon twisted shut, stretch the neck of the balloon over the top of the sport's drink cap.

　　捏住气球扭紧的部分，并把气球嘴套在瓶盖上。

　　4. Slowly release the twist on the balloon, carefully pull the sports drink cap into the "open" position, and gently flick the CD on a flat surface. Watch what happens!

　　轻轻把CD放在一个开阔的桌面上，把拧紧的气球慢慢放气，小心拉开瓶盖。看！现在发生了什么！

　　当气球慢慢放气，释放出来的空气为CD和平面之间制造了一个空气垫，并减少了光盘和桌面之间的摩擦，使其能够更自由地移动，就像气垫船一样漂浮。
